What you will do

  • Lead the design and development of biometric computer vision systems for face detection, attributes, and recognition.
  • Conduct rigorous fairness analysis and benchmarking to measure and mitigate algorithmic bias.
  • Architect, train, and optimize ML models using PyTorch, TensorFlow, and JAX.
  • Own end-to-end ML pipelines from data ingestion to deployment, utilizing Airflow for automation.
  • Optimize models for low-latency production inference using quantization, distillation, TensorRT, and ONNX on AWS.
  • Mentor other ML engineers and establish technical best practices within the Computer Vision team.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Austria
  • 5+ years of industry experience in Machine Learning.
  • 3+ years of dedicated experience in Biometrics or Face Analysis.
  • Deep expertise in computer vision, specifically regarding face recognition.
  • Expert proficiency in Python and vision libraries such as OpenCV and PyTorch.
  • Experience scaling training jobs on multi-GPU clusters and deploying services via AWS (SageMaker, EC2, EKS).

Nice to have

  • Research publications in CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, or FG.
  • Experience with vector databases (Milvus, Faiss) and ANN search algorithms.
  • Knowledge of privacy, security, and compliance standards for biometric systems.
  • Experience porting models to edge/mobile devices (CoreML, LiteRT, TFLite).
  • Experience using GANs or diffusion models to generate synthetic training data.
