What you will do

• Build and ship high-quality Android experiences for Proton Drive and Proton VPN.
• Develop features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to define high standards for privacy-focused consumer products at scale.
• Integrate Android applications with a platform-independent Rust logical core.
• Mentor engineers and raise the overall technical bar within the team.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features from scoping and technical design through to delivery and iteration.

Requirements

• Extensive experience building and shipping high-quality Android applications using Kotlin.
• Strong proficiency with Jetpack Compose and modern Android development practices.
• Proven track record of building maintainable, scalable, and testable mobile architectures.
• Expertise in performance, concurrency, multithreading, and mobile memory management.
• Understanding of mobile scalability considerations, including caching, network usage, and offline behavior.
• Must be based in the Vilnius office.

Nice to have

• Experience with privacy, security, encryption, sync systems, or offline-first architectures.
• Experience with Rust.
