TL;DR

Manufacturing Engineer: Managing manufacturing engineering activities for equipment, tools, and production processes with an accent on safety, people, quality, responsiveness, cost, and environment (SPQRCE). Focus on troubleshooting complex equipment, defining manufacturing process and sequence of operations, and leading equipment/tool design, integration, plant installation, launch, and continuous improvement.

What you will do

  • Manage projects for tools, large equipment, stations, and department-specific technologies.
  • Supervise skilled hourly employees to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and processes.
  • Administer National and Local Agreement between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.
  • Apply independent judgment within Global Manufacturing Systems, focusing on SPQRCE.
  • Define manufacturing process, sequence of operations, human factors considerations, and efficient material flow.
  • Lead equipment/tool design, construction, integration, plant installation, launch, and continuous improvement; provide technical direction to outside vendors.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience in technical troubleshooting.
  • Willingness to rotate shifts (1st and 2nd Production Shifts).

Nice to have

  • Technical college degree.
  • Experience leading a team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of FANUC robots and automation.
  • Experience with manufacturing maintenance processes and various conveyor types.
  • Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and knowledge of safety systems (including lock-out tag-out).
