TL;DR
Legal Counsel (AI): Advising SITA’s Borders Business Unit on digital travel, biometrics, AI, privacy, sanctions, compliance, public procurement, and strategic commercial deals with an accent on international technology and government-facing legal work. Focus on assessing legal risks, managing external counsel, supporting dispute resolution, and guiding partnerships, consortia, and joint ventures across SITA’s global regions.
Location: Beirut, Lebanon or Casablanca, Morocco. Hybrid work includes working from home up to 2 days per week depending on team needs; up to 30 days per year may be worked from any location worldwide. Worldwide international travel is highly likely.

What you will do
- Advise the Borders Business Unit on digital travel, biometrics, AI, privacy, sanctions, and compliance matters.
- Guide public procurement processes and direct engagements with governments.
- Support strategic deals, including industry partnerships, consortia, and joint ventures.
- Manage relationships with local external counsel and collaborate with the Contract Management team.
- Assess and manage legal risks through internal business approval processes.
- Support dispute resolution and deliver legal training to colleagues when required.
Requirements
- Degree in Law.
- Registered or licensed Attorney, Lawyer, Solicitor, Barrister, or holder of a similar international legal qualification.
- Solid experience in one legal domain or broad experience across multiple domains.
- Ability to work autonomously, influence stakeholders, solve problems, analyze ambiguity, and communicate effectively.
- English and Arabic are required.
