TL;DR

Legal Counsel (Borders): Providing comprehensive legal support for the Borders Business Unit with an accent on public procurement, digital travel technologies, and biometrics. Focus on advising on AI, privacy, and compliance issues while managing complex international strategic deals and government relationships.

Location: Must be based in Beirut, Lebanon or Casablanca, Morocco. The role involves a hybrid work model with up to 2 days per week working from home.

What you will do

• Advise on legal matters related to digital travel, biometrics, AI, privacy, and sanctions.
• Guide the team on public procurement and direct government engagements.
• Manage relationships with local external counsel across international regions.
• Draft and negotiate strategic contracts, including industry partnerships and joint ventures.
• Assess and manage legal risks through internal business approval processes.
• Support formal and informal dispute resolution and deliver legal training to colleagues.

Requirements

• Degree in Law and appropriate legal qualification (Attorney, Solicitor, or Barrister).
• English and Arabic proficiency is mandatory.
• Solid experience in a legal domain with the ability to work autonomously.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in ambiguous environments.
• Willingness to engage in international travel.
• French language skills are considered a plus.
