What you will do

  • Build and maintain enterprise-scale microservices and optimize system performance.
  • Lead architectural design discussions and influence high-level technical decisions.
  • Implement event-driven communication patterns using RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Azure Service Bus.
  • Design and version REST and gRPC APIs ensuring backward compatibility.
  • Design and manage advanced Azure DevOps pipelines and deployment strategies.
  • Lead incident response and operational improvement efforts through post-mortems.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of backend software development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a senior or equivalent role.
  • Expert proficiency in .NET 8+ and C# 12+.
  • Advanced SQL Server skills including query tuning, indexing, and execution plans.
  • Deep understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, and refactoring.
  • Must be located in or able to work onsite in Pretoria.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Redis for distributed caching and invalidation.
  • Elasticsearch expertise for search and aggregation performance.
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry for logging, tracing, and monitoring.
