What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers to foster ownership, collaboration, and high performance.
• Translate product priorities and customer needs into clear technical objectives, team goals, and actionable delivery plans.
• Drive planning, scope clarification, and prioritization in collaboration with Product Management, Architecture, QA, and Operations.
• Ensure reliable delivery of features, releases, and production changes according to quality and security standards.
• Manage team capacity planning, skill development, and hiring to ensure necessary capabilities for future work.
• Guide the team in applying sound engineering practices, including maintainability, automation, and operational readiness.

Requirements

• Strong background in software development, ideally with Java, full-stack technologies, and enterprise-grade applications.
• Proven experience in leading, coaching, and developing software engineering teams.
• Solid understanding of agile software development and iterative product development.
• Ability to align stakeholders across Product Management, Architecture, QA, and Operations.
• Strong skills in capacity planning, prioritization, and requirements management.
• Must be based in or able to work from Dortmund, Germany.

Nice to have

• Experience in software architecture and designing scalable enterprise solutions.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience using AI-supported tools to improve engineering productivity and delivery processes.
