TL;DR

Hardware Design Engineer (Embedded/Board-level): Supporting the development of board-level hardware solutions throughout the product lifecycle with an accent on schematic design, component selection, and board bring-up. Focus on ensuring manufacturability, performing hardware validation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality hardware for automotive and IoT markets.

Location: Guadalajara, Mexico (Onsite)

What you will do

  • Translate functional requirements into schematic designs under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
  • Collaborate with PCB layout engineers to define placement, routing, and design constraints.
  • Perform board bring-up, functional verification, and hardware debugging using laboratory equipment.
  • Support EMC, reliability, and compliance testing activities.
  • Communicate design-related risks and provide technical status updates to project teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of experience in board-level hardware design and development.
  • Knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design fundamentals.
  • Experience with schematic capture tools, preferably Cadence.
  • Understanding of PCB design flow and hardware product development processes.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and logic analyzers.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Cadence OrCAD Capture and Allegro environments.
  • Familiarity with high-speed interfaces such as DDR, Ethernet, USB, PCIe, and CAN.
  • Knowledge of power supply design and PMIC implementation.
  • Exposure to Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), and EMC concepts.
  • Experience with PLM systems and engineering change management.
