What you will do

• Build and maintain the aggregated search and discovery platform, unifying data from multiple internal authority services into a single index.
• Develop natural language search as a service by translating human queries into structured search using OpenSearch.
• Work across the stack: backend services (Python) and frontend development (Angular with a transition to React).
• Use agentic tools and AI-assisted development to ensure scalable, robust code rather than just increasing output.
• Contribute ideas and help shape emerging agentic engineering standards with minimal day-to-day oversight.
• Ramp up in an existing moderately documented codebase with direct knowledge transfer from the tech lead.

Requirements

• Senior-level engineering experience delivering production systems.
• Strong Python fundamentals and ability to produce scalable, robust code even when using agentic tooling.
• Full-stack experience, including frontend experience with Angular and comfort with a transition toward React.
• Ability to operate in a low-specification environment: propose solutions and define direction.
• Curiosity and proactive problem-solving approach.
