APAC Payroll Specialist

What you will do

• Coordinate monthly payroll cycles and deadlines with external providers across multiple APAC countries.
• Perform payroll validations, reconciliations, and quality checks to ensure accuracy.
• Manage payroll inputs from the HR system and maintain high data quality standards.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve queries and support reporting requirements.
• Develop and standardize payroll processes, workflows, and automation initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with local regulations and support internal/external audits.

Requirements

• Experience in multi-country payroll, preferably within an outsourced environment.
• Strong understanding of payroll controls, processes, and compliance frameworks.
• Detail-oriented mindset with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in working with HRIS and payroll management systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively across cultures and time zones.
• Must be based in Sydney for on-site work.

Nice to have

• Experience working with payroll vendors such as BDO, Deel, or Remote.
• Proven track record of building payroll processes from scratch.
• Exposure to financial audits and regulatory compliance frameworks.
