Quality Engineer

TL;DR

Quality Engineer: Supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring products meet customer expectations and that quality procedures are followed and documented, with an accent on QMS execution, First Article Inspections, and compliance with AS9102/AS9100 requirements. Focus on internal/customer/supplier audits, corrective action follow-up, and hands-on incoming/outgoing inspection work.

Location: Onsite – Cleveland, OH (also Highland Heights, OH)

Salary: $74,000.00–$90,000.00 annually

What you will do

• Execute quality system requirements, drive continuous process improvement, and advance quality programs aligned with the business plan.
• Perform First Article Inspections for complex assemblies to meet customer and AS9102 requirements.
• Support QMS compliance through internal audits, AS audits, customer audits, and source inspections.
• Manage corrective action requests: monitor supplier progress, ensure timely completion, and verify effectiveness of actions taken.
• Maintain hands-on responsibility for incoming and outgoing inspections and keep accurate records and reports.
• Provide training and quality assurance support to Quality staff, production technicians, and front office personnel; coordinate with customers, vendors, and auditors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 2 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills for a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
• Ability to communicate and present technical material to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to drive results through others with urgency and responsiveness to customer needs.

Nice to have

• ASQ certifications (Certified Quality Auditor/Technician/Engineer).
• AS9100 Internal Auditor accreditation aligned with AS9104:2022.
• Working knowledge of ISO and other applicable quality rating systems.
• Experience implementing and using an AS9100-certified system; strong manufacturing background.
• Experience with DISCUS or similar AS9102 First Article Inspection software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and related company systems.
