Global Category Manager - Mechanical Components (Mechanical Components)

What you will do

• Manage several mechanical component categories for the Traction division.
• Plan and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business requirements.
• Build and maintain a supplier base capable of meeting current and future demand.
• Identify and select suppliers based on quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability criteria.
• Negotiate pricing, sourcing framework agreements, and supplier price lists.
• Drive cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives with Engineering and R&D.

Requirements

• University degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement.
• Experience with supplier negotiations, contract management, and category strategy development.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English is required; German is an advantage.
• Knowledge of mechanical components, railway industry experience, MS Office, and ERP systems such as SAP.
