TL;DR
Design Engineer (Electrical): Developing competitive and technically feasible cable designs for power grids, oil & gas, and renewable energy projects with an accent on compliance with international standards and customer requirements. Focus on performing complex cable sizing, ampacity calculations, and managing the full design lifecycle from pre-order technical support to post-order production specifications.

Location: Muscat, Oman (Onsite)

What you will do

  • Design cables according to customer requirements and technical parameters provided by standards and internal capabilities.
  • Perform technical calculations including cable sizing, ampacity, and short-circuit ratings using specialized software.
  • Prepare raw material specifications and bills of materials (BOMs) for ERP integration.
  • Provide technical support to marketing and production teams throughout the pre-order and post-order phases.
  • Coordinate with R&D and QC departments for product development and additional testing.
  • Review manufacturing specifications (CMS) to ensure accuracy before production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience as a power cable design engineer (for degree holders) or 5+ years (for diploma holders).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CYMCAP.
  • Deep understanding of LV, MV, and instrumentation cable manufacturing and design standards (IEC, BS, HD, AUS/NZ).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and perform under pressure.
