What you will do

• Build and operate production-grade AI services and backend applications using Python.
• Design and implement LLM-powered workflows, including prompt design, context management, and tool calling.
• Define robust API contracts and ensure AI output reliability through automated testing and iterative evaluation.
• Implement safety and reliability controls such as validation, guardrails, and fallback patterns.
• Monitor and optimize production systems using logs, metrics, traces, and AI observability tooling.
• Collaborate with product owners and architects to transform ambiguous use cases into production-ready solutions.

Requirements

• Strong Python and backend engineering skills for building production-grade services and APIs.
• Proven experience developing and shipping LLM-powered applications to production.
• Deep understanding of prompt engineering, structured outputs, and context management.
• Experience integrating foundation models via Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, or Bedrock.
• Expertise in API design, deployment discipline, and failure handling.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Madrid office (Hybrid: 60% onsite).

Nice to have

• Experience with orchestration frameworks like LangChain, MCP, RAG, or Graph databases.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and performance testing for APIs.
• Experience working with Java, Kotlin, or React.
• Ability to prototype quickly using Streamlit or Jupyter notebooks.
• Background in applied NLP tasks such as classification or PII detection.
