What you will do

• Design and own an automated hardware test rig integrated with CI/CD for the Cypress wearable device.
• Implement connectivity stress tests including throughput, A2DP/AVRCP, and simulated degraded-connectivity scenarios.
• Run long-duration audio session testing and battery/thermal performance characterization.
• Build and maintain a live performance and stress dashboard to flag regressions automatically.
• Develop diagnostic tooling and support automated bug triage for hardware and firmware issues.
• Partner with firmware teams to define automation strategies and testbed requirements.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building hardware/embedded test automation and integrating it into CI/CD.
• Solid wireless/networking fundamentals including Bluetooth audio, BLE, and throughput testing.
• Strong scripting and programming skills in Python for building harnesses and dashboards.
• Experience defining test plans, metrics, and pass/fail thresholds from real data.
• Comfort operating in an early-stage, prototype hardware environment with evolving specifications.

Nice to have

• Experience owning an automation testbed for shipping consumer hardware like wearables or IoT devices.
• Performance instrumentation experience including latency, IPC/cycle-count, and thread-level tracing.
• Familiarity with Qualcomm chipsets and associated debugging tooling.
• Experience automating from a programmable Bluetooth central such as Android, iOS, or Raspberry Pi.
• Knowledge of battery and thermal test methodology.
