OPS Engineer – Network (Maternity Leave)

Location: Milan, Italy

Starting annual base salary: €39,000, plus variable remuneration based on applicable policies and performance.

What you will do

• Monitor and manage enterprise network and security infrastructure.
• Support the configuration and maintenance of switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN connectivity.
• Perform first- and second-level troubleshooting for connectivity, routing, switching, and security incidents.
• Manage incidents, service requests, and change tickets through ServiceNow and ITIL-based processes.
• Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, data center layouts, and logical and physical topology documentation using Microsoft Visio.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, escalate critical issues, and contribute to infrastructure optimization.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in network engineering or a similar infrastructure role.
• Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent field.
• English at minimum B1 level, written and spoken.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT, basic BGP, and enterprise networking concepts.
• Knowledge of firewall policies, ACLs, site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, and perimeter security.
• Familiarity with Check Point and Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Nexus and IOS, F5 BIG-IP, load balancing, ServiceNow, Microsoft Visio, and network monitoring tools.

Nice to have

• CCNA or an equivalent networking certification.
• Experience with network monitoring and performance analysis tools.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.
