TL;DR

Salary: $85,000 – $170,000

The Exploration Company is developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle designed for cargo and human spaceflight.

What you will do

  • Contribute to V&V and IV&V activities to ensure flight software meets performance and safety requirements.
  • Manage and trace requirements from system-level to implementation and test artifacts.
  • Prepare documentation for software certification and NASA Safety Reviews.
  • Apply and tailor formal aerospace standards.
  • Collaborate with system engineers and software teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Plan software testing for integrated missions.

Requirements

  • Must be based in or able to relocate to Houston, Texas or California
  • Experience with safety-critical or highly regulated software systems, preferably in aerospace.
  • Strong technical background in software engineering with practical experience in modern C++.
  • Solid understanding of requirements management, V&V, and certification processes.
  • Experience with real-time systems, embedded development, or spacecraft software.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python for design and test discussions.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with NASA or ECSS standards (e.g., SSP 50808, NASA-NPR-7150.2).
  • Prior work on human-rated spaceflight programs.
  • Experience with model-based system engineering.
  • Experience with CI/CD and build systems.
