Salary: $182,000 – $242,000

What you will do

• Own and manage the API and Kubernetes Gateway API stacks, including routing, TLS/mTLS, rate limiting, and observability.
• Lead large-scale infrastructure migrations, such as transitioning from HAProxy to Envoy across all zones without customer regression.
• Manage L4/L7 proxying, load balancing, global routing, and performance tuning for the platform's control plane.
• Define technical direction and establish engineering standards for the gateway stack.
• Mentor mid-to-senior level engineers and lead post-mortem analysis to improve system reliability.

Requirements

• Production experience writing Go.
• Deep expertise in networking infrastructure, including L4/L7 load balancing and reverse proxies (Envoy, HAProxy, or NGINX).
• Strong Kubernetes experience, specifically with Gateway API, Ingress, operators, and controllers.
• Proficiency in TLS/mTLS and edge authentication concerns.
• Proven track record of setting technical direction and leading initiatives across multiple teams.
• Must be a U.S. person or eligible for export control authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience leading end-to-end large-scale infrastructure migrations.
• Experience operating high-traffic edge gateways as a production choke point.
• Experience with certificate issuance/rotation (e.g., via Vault) and federated control planes.
• Interest in pursuing a technical leadership or engineering management path.
