What you will do

• Own the financial forecast, including bottom-up modeling from lab capacity and top-down P&L management.
• Analyze and own gross margins, tracking costs across reagents, instruments, and labor.
• Manage group consolidation, intercompany accounting, and the monthly close process.
• Oversee cash management, AP/AR, and treasury operations across Swiss and US entities.
• Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, audit, and payroll requirements.
• Automate financial workflows by building custom tooling and leveraging system APIs.

Requirements

• Several years of finance experience in a scaling startup environment.
• Proven ability to build complex financial models that link operational reality to cash flow.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python is a hard requirement for automating financial systems.
• Experience with Swiss and European finance regulations, including VAT and social charges.
• Understanding of physical business cost structures, such as COGS, capex, and yield loss.
• Ability to work hands-on in a small team environment where roles are not strictly defined.
