What you will do

• Own the technical integration of inverters, batteries, charging infrastructure, and heat pumps into the Heartbeat energy management system.
• Implement and optimize communication protocols including Modbus TCP, OCPP, MQTT, and EEbus.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain services on IoT gateways using Go.
• Diagnose network issues across LAN/WAN, VPN, and firewalls to ensure resilient edge services.
• Conduct physical testing of the energy management system in the Berlin lab.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance and reliability standards are met across the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in IoT development and the integration of diverse OEM devices.
• Proficiency in Go programming and communication protocols like Modbus TCP, OCPP, and MQTT.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WLAN, and device discovery mechanisms in home networks.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• English: Very good spoken and written proficiency required.

Nice to have

• Experience in network or systems administration (routing, firewalls, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) integration for IoT solutions.
• Previous experience with energy management systems.
• Knowledge of the German language.
