What you will do

• Architect, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across complex Windows environments.
• Lead end-to-end application performance engineering by analyzing execution plans and optimizing queries.
• Design and validate robust backup, recovery, and HA/DR strategies including Always On Availability Groups.
• Govern database security through role-based access controls and auditing frameworks.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using PowerShell and SQL Agent.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for critical database incidents and lead post-incident reviews.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience in mission-critical production environments.
• Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server 2019/2025 on Windows Server.
• Advanced T-SQL skills including query optimization, index design, and performance troubleshooting.
• Deep expertise in application performance tuning and resolving lock contention or blocking chains.
• Proven experience supporting Always On Availability Groups, WSFC, and DR failover.
• Strong command of Wait Statistics, DMVs, Extended Events, and Query Store.

Nice to have

• Microsoft certification (DP-300 or MCSE).
• Experience with Azure SQL Database or hybrid cloud configurations.
• Proficiency with APM tooling like Dynatrace or AppDynamics.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and dbatools.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks like GDPR or ISO 27001.
