Senior Engineer - Safety (Scheduled Waste): Implementing health, safety, and environmental policies at a medical manufacturing site with an accent on scheduled waste management, regulatory compliance, workplace inspections, and accident prevention. Focus on conducting safety audits, investigating incidents, managing environmental risks, and training employees and first aid officers.
Location: Onsite in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia

What you will do
- Implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to maintain a safe workplace and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct safety audits and onsite inspections to identify workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, and unsafe practices.
- Investigate accidents, verify reports, and coordinate with technical specialists and external safety authorities.
- Recommend process and workplace improvements to prevent incidents and manage environmental risks.
- Maintain and analyse records of workplace injuries, illnesses, and absences.
- Train employees, safety officers, and first aid officers, and ensure required first aid supplies are available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in scheduled waste management.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, including Scheduled Waste Regulations.
- Understanding of system and process safety, component reliability, and environmental risk management.
