Senior Engineer - Safety (Scheduled Waste)

Location: Onsite in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia

What you will do

• Implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to maintain a safe workplace and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct safety audits and onsite inspections to identify workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, and unsafe practices.
• Investigate accidents, verify reports, and coordinate with technical specialists and external safety authorities.
• Recommend process and workplace improvements to prevent incidents and manage environmental risks.
• Maintain and analyse records of workplace injuries, illnesses, and absences.
• Train employees, safety officers, and first aid officers, and ensure required first aid supplies are available.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in scheduled waste management.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, including Scheduled Waste Regulations.
• Understanding of system and process safety, component reliability, and environmental risk management.
