Senior Golang Engineer (Open Source)

Location: Must be located in the Western Hemisphere (time zone between Los Angeles and New York, inclusive).

Compensation: $45 – $55 per hour

What you will do

• Collaborate with the open source community to design and implement new features for OpenTofu and other DevOps tools.
• Maintain and improve codebases, infrastructure, and technical documentation.
• Review and provide feedback on community and team pull requests.
• Take ownership of software features from definition and planning to shipping.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on Golang.
• Proven experience with open source projects, ideally in a leadership role.
• English: C1+ (strong written and verbal communication) required for community engagement.
• Extensive experience authoring and operating OpenTofu/Terraform modules in production.
• Deep familiarity with cloud technologies and security best practices.
• Availability: Average 25-35 hours per week.

• Proficiency in using AI-assisted tooling (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Copilot) for development.
