Salary: Target starting salaries vary by zone: $88,000 – $176,000 USD

What you will do
- Design and implement reliable, observable, and affordable multi-step agent loops at enterprise scale.
- Develop pragmatic evaluation systems to measure answer quality and prevent regressions.
- Lead model selection, upgrading, and fine-tuning to balance cost, latency, and quality.
- Optimize retrieval, ranking, and context windows to accurately ground models in customer code.
- Act as the technical authority for agent engineering, setting standards and mentoring the team.
Requirements
- Senior-level expertise in agent engineering, blending software engineering, ML, and statistics.
- Proven experience building, training, and operating LLM-powered systems in production.
- Ability to lead autonomously on ambiguous, high-risk technical problems.
- Strong software engineering skills with proficiency in Go, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Postgres.
- Must overlap with EST time zone for at least 20 hours per week.
Nice to have
- Experience shipping LLM-powered or agentic products specifically for developers.
- Expertise in building evaluation systems for ML products.
- Experience with retrieval, ranking, embeddings, or search relevance.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and raising team fluency in AI engineering.
