Senior Data Manager (BigQuery)

What you will do

• Continuously improve the BigQuery-based data analytics platform regarding access control, resource allocation, cost optimization, and usability.
• Provide domain expertise in cloud data warehouse resource and cost management to maintain a highly efficient analytics environment.
• Establish comprehensive workflow cycles from individual query tuning to end-to-end forecasting and budget management for cloud expenditures.
• Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including security and privacy teams, to align the platform with operational and compliance requirements.
• Lead team collaboration to build an infrastructure that balances high usability, cost efficiency, and robust security.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of cloud data warehouse architecture and cost structures, including practical IaaS implementation knowledge.
• Hands-on experience in analyzing and optimizing data transformation logic using SQL within a DWH environment.
• Strong leadership and project management skills to drive projects with governance teams and data users.
• Japanese: B2 required
• English: B2 required

Nice to have

• Experience in FinOps, specifically focused on query computing resource optimization and cost allocation.
• Experience implementing and managing ETL/ELT pipelines for data marts.
• Experience designing or managing data infrastructure specifically tailored for AI/LLM utilization.
