Data Modeling Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Analyze and inspect new financial datasets to understand structures, fields, and data types before ingestion.
• Identify inconsistencies, schema gaps, and formatting issues to ensure data quality.
• Build and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models, including tables, relationships, and hierarchies.
• Test sample data against models to validate mappings and transformations.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to translate models into ETL/ELT-ready schemas.
• Document field definitions and data handling rules for internal teams.

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of experience in data modeling, data engineering, or data architecture.
• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with Python for profiling and automation.
• Strong understanding of relational and dimensional modeling basics.
• Experience working with financial data, specifically research datasets (e.g., ESG data).
• Technical degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• Must be based in Singapore

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Palantir Foundry, or Parquet-based systems.
• Familiarity with XML, JSON, and schema definition languages.
• Strong Excel skills for exploratory data assessment.
• Progress toward CFA Level II or higher.
