TL;DR
Staff Engineer (Organic / In-organic Chemistry) (Organic Chemistry): Synthesizing, purifying, and characterizing organic and fluorocarbon-based lubricants for storage technologies with an accent on reaction optimization, materials development, and product reliability. Focus on interpreting analytical results, preparing research publications and patents, and maintaining safe, reliable laboratory operations.

Location: Onsite in Woodlands, Singapore

What you will do

  • Synthesize lubricants, optimize reaction conditions, and purify end products.
  • Characterize organic and fluorocarbon-based materials.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and publications to communicate research findings.
  • Support laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and housekeeping.
  • Work independently on most assignments with minimal day-to-day supervision.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Chemistry, preferably Organic or Organometallic Chemistry, or a Chemistry degree with at least 3 years of technical experience.
  • Strong background in synthesizing and characterizing organic and fluorocarbon materials.
  • Proven research excellence demonstrated through publications and patents.
  • Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Singapore.

Nice to have

  • Experience with GPC, HPLC, LC-TOF, FTIR, or ToF-SIMS interpretation.
