TL;DR
PhD Position POLARIS Materials (Materials Science/Thermal Management): Investigating innovative nanomaterial solutions for thermal management in highly integrated electrical systems with an accent on synthesizing materials in cleanrooms and validating their thermal performance. Focus on developing effective heat dissipation pathways to prevent thermal throttling and increase device lifetime.
Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Delft, Netherlands
Salary: €3,059 – €3,881 gross per month

What you will do
- Investigate innovative nanomaterial solutions for thermal management in high-performance computing and communication arrays.
- Synthesize materials within the EKL cleanroom.
- Create test structures and validate their thermal performance and other relevant materials properties.
- Collaborate with academic, research, and industrial partners within the POLARIS consortium.
Requirements
- MSc in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, or other relevant fields.
- English proficiency required for communicating, participating in courses, and writing scientific articles/thesis.
- Ability to work onsite in the Netherlands.
- Prior experience in cleanroom processing and/or thermal or material analysis is highly recommended.
