Staff Structural Substation Engineer

Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to the US (Overland Park, KS; Burlington, MA; Chicago, IL; or Bloomington, MN). Hybrid work options available after 90 days.

Salary: $120,406 – $201,080

What you will do

• Prepare complex engineering deliverables for large-scale substation projects.
• Perform structural analysis and design for steel structures and foundations using specialized software.
• Coordinate with internal and external team members to ensure project requirements are met.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to lower-level engineering staff.
• Ensure compliance with corporate quality programs and engineering standards.
• Assist with business development activities and client communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
• Valid PE license is preferred.
• Experience with utility-scale electrical substation design.
• Proficiency in 3D analysis software such as RISA 3D or STAAD Pro.
• Must be authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship available).

Nice to have

• Experience with foundation design software like L-Pile, RISA Foundation, SP-Mats, or SP-Col.
• Advanced proficiency in MathCAD and Excel for design templates.
