Staff Security Engineer

Compensation: $265,000 – $310,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Design and evolve the threat detection and security operations capability.
• Define detection strategy across cloud infrastructure, applications, and endpoints.
• Establish and improve SIEM and monitoring architecture, focusing on signal quality and scalability.
• Implement detection-as-code practices and set standards for detection logic.
• Lead the rollout of automated security controls and secrets rotation.
• Drive visibility across critical assets and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

• Must be based in San Francisco, CA and able to work on-site 4 days/week.
• 6+ years of experience in Security Engineering, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Proven experience designing or improving security monitoring, detection, or SIEM systems.
• Strong understanding of cloud environments (AWS) including IAM and networking.
• Experience with endpoint detection and response tools like SentinelOne.
• Strong programming or scripting skills (Python, Go) for automation.
