Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS): Owning the infrastructure layer of a cloud-based claims management platform with an accent on AWS networking, database reliability, and security hardening. Focus on designing high-availability architecture, implementing modular Terraform IaC, and driving operational automation to ensure system scalability and performance.
Location: Remote (USA only). Must be based in the US (excluding Alaska, California, Hawaii, Montana, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wyoming). No visa sponsorship available.
Salary: $120,000–$135,000

What you will do
- Own infrastructure architecture, including resource sizing, lifecycle management, and documentation.
- Manage internal and customer-facing cloud networking, including VPCs, Transit Gateway, and secure inter-service connectivity.
- Oversee database infrastructure, including clustering, failover, encryption, and multi-AZ high-availability strategies.
- Design and maintain disaster recovery strategies and build cost/FinOps reporting for AWS spend visibility.
- Administer AWS IAM and enforce infrastructure security baselines in partnership with IT Security.
- Write modular, production-grade Terraform IaC and collaborate with SRE on CI/CD and observability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, VPC, IAM).
- Expert-level Terraform (HCL) experience with environment orchestration.
- Strong networking background (VPCs, routing, security groups, Transit Gateway).
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or Ruby) and understanding of Ruby on Rails/TypeScript.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
