Test Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo, CA headquarters

Compensation: $106,500 – $146,475 + Equity

What you will do

• Perform testing as a Test Conductor or Test Director to ensure procedures align with real-world execution.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve test system interfaces, procedural workflows, and software tools.
• Support iterative improvements of fluid, electrical, and structural hardware for the Kaleidos reactor.
• Execute one-off test campaigns in a fast-paced environment to drive hardware risk reduction.
• Ensure compliance with DOE and NRC standards in all procedural documentation.

Requirements

• 2+ years of full-time professional experience in engineering problem-solving, system design, analysis, or testing.
• Must work 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA.
• Background in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, aerospace, aviation, or maritime.
• Strong technical fundamentals in fluids and thermodynamics.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
• Must be eligible to work in compliance with U.S. export controls.

Nice to have

• Experience with rocket engine or turbopump testing.
• Knowledge of instrumentation including pressure transducers and thermocouples.
• Ability to interpret engineering standards like ASME 31.3 or Boiler Code Section III/VIII.
• Proficiency with Ion, Epsilon3, NX CAD, Teamcenter, and Beckhoff PLC Controllers.
