Software Integration Lead (Automotive)

TL;DR
Software Integration Lead (Automotive): Integrating software components into cohesive, reliable builds for next-generation mechatronic systems with an accent on component compatibility, build automation, and checkout testing. Focus on troubleshooting integration issues, developing automation scripts, coordinating quality assurance, and providing technical leadership across development teams.
Location: Hybrid in Milford, Michigan, with attendance required at least three times per week

What you will do
- Own the technical integration of software components into cohesive and reliable builds.
- Collaborate with development, quality assurance, and stakeholder teams to ensure component compatibility and functionality.
- Develop software solutions and automation scripts to improve integration workflows and component compatibility.
- Troubleshoot integration issues, perform checkout testing, and resolve defects before software handoff.
- Document integration processes, configurations, and build procedures while communicating progress, timelines, and challenges.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to colleagues involved in software integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, integration, or build management.
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Experience troubleshooting software compatibility issues and using build automation tools or integration frameworks.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or Java, along with knowledge of software testing and quality assurance methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and task-management skills.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Eight or more years of experience in software development, integration, or build management.
- Experience with technical leadership, mentorship, automation tools, large-scale or distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, build orchestration, or automated testing frameworks.
