What you will do

• Execute and accelerate the automation roadmap, transitioning from manual configuration to CLI-driven and agentic development.
• Build AI agents and automations for accounting, AP, tax, and close processes, including invoice coding and reconciliations.
• Implement close-management tooling and manage NetSuite and data warehouse connections.
• Configure and extend NetSuite, Zip, and the integration layer, making strategic decisions on logic placement.
• Collaborate with accountants to translate complex workflows into reliable automation.
• Lead build-or-buy decisions and conduct design reviews to ensure system auditability and reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a technical lead or architectural role.
• Strong understanding of controllership operations, including accounting, AP, tax, and the close process.
• Proven ability to automate repetitive processes and a passion for eliminating manual toil.
• Experience with AI agents, LLM-based workflows, and production-level guardrails.
• Ability to operate as a senior individual contributor and lead through influence.
• Must be based in the United States

Nice to have

• Transition from a finance, accounting, or consulting background into automation building.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite, Zip, Workato, SuiteScript, Redshift, or dbt.
