TL;DR
Automation Engineer (Gamedev): Building and supporting automation systems, testing tools, and CI/CD infrastructure to streamline game development workflows with an accent on reliability and scalability. Focus on collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve productivity and game quality across the studio.

Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Metro Vancouver, Canada. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the Vancouver studio after an initial 3-month in-studio onboarding period.

Salary: $85,000 - $105,000 CAD annually.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain automation systems, testing tools, and dashboards.
  • Evolve continuous integration and testing infrastructure for reliability and scalability.
  • Collaborate with developers and QA to identify and streamline productivity workflows.
  • Support the studio's broad mandate to empower all areas of game development.
  • Ensure operational excellence across all internal development tools.

Requirements

  • Must have work eligibility in Canada.
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Metro Vancouver.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong Python skills and experience with automated testing and scripting.
  • Experience with CI/CD software such as Jenkins, Team City, or buildbot.
  • Experience with infrastructure, operations, and system administration.

Nice to have

  • Experience in game development.
  • Proficiency in C++, C#, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with Perforce, AWS, Ubuntu, Docker, Ansible, or Puppet.
