Principal Software Engineer (Cloud Native)

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY (minimum of three days per week in office)

Salary: $170,000 - $200,000

What you will do

• Design and lead modernization efforts for legacy systems, prioritizing scalability and business value.
• Evaluate and implement SaaS, low-code/no-code platforms to accelerate delivery.
• Set the technical vision for the engineering organization and establish architectural standards.
• Collaborate with business and product leaders to align technical solutions with strategic goals.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous learning.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP), serverless, and event-driven design.
• Strong understanding of SaaS platforms and Gen AI tools.
• Proven ability to lead engineering efforts and influence cross-functional teams.
• Must be based in New York, NY, or be able to work from the office at least three days a week.

Nice to have

• Full-stack development experience (Backend, Frontend, Cloud, Infrastructure).
• Familiarity with distributed messaging (Kafka, Kinesis) and caching (Redis, ElastiCache).
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in media, entertainment, or digital platforms.
