Systems Engineer II (Python)

What you will do

• Provide remote and in-person technical support for data collection sites, including debugging capture rigs, network issues, and pipeline failures.
• Configure capture systems, set up protocols, validate end-to-end data flow, and train moderators for new studies.
• Test and qualify new hardware for production use.
• Design, prototype, and build custom capture systems and supporting hardware, including PCBs.
• Write and maintain Python and Bash scripts to automate common moderator and operations workflows.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in hardware and software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python and general software development.
• Experience in PCB design, specifically schematic capture and layout.
• Proficiency in Bash scripting and Linux command-line tools.
• Must be able to work onsite in Sunnyvale, California.
• Willingness to travel between sites as needed.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of camera systems, including image sensors, lenses, calibration, and sync.
