TL;DR
Chief Trust Officer (Fintech): Building, launching, and operating a federally chartered trust bank from the ground up with an accent on fiduciary controls, trust administration, and regulatory compliance. Focus on completing pre-opening requirements for OCC charter approval, establishing operational infrastructure, and ensuring safe and sound banking operations.

What you will do

  • Lead all day-to-day fiduciary functions including custody operations, settlement flows, and account administration.
  • Design and implement operational playbooks and business continuity frameworks aligned with OCC safety and soundness expectations.
  • Serve as the senior Fiduciary Officer, overseeing fiduciary recordkeeping and compliance with 12 CFR Part 9.
  • Prepare and present regular Board and committee reports covering fiduciary activities, controls, and institutional KPIs.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support pre-opening examination requirements for final OCC charter approval.
  • Oversee relationships with banking partners, sub-custodians, and technology vendors to ensure compliance with third-party risk management expectations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in banking or trust operations at a federally regulated financial institution.
  • Direct experience at a national bank or federally chartered trust company operating under OCC supervision.
  • Deep working knowledge of 12 CFR Part 9 and fiduciary examination standards.
  • Proven track record of building or managing high-volume, control-intensive operational environments.
  • Experience reporting to or working directly with a bank Board of Directors.
  • Must be based in the U.S.

Nice to have

  • Experience as a designated Fiduciary Officer or Trust Officer.
  • Experience at a de novo bank during the chartering or pre-opening period.
  • Background in digital asset custody, stablecoin operations, or blockchain-based transaction workflows.
  • Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) credential.
