TL;DR

Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure): Supporting a major platform transformation by moving legacy environments to a cloud-first architecture on Azure with an accent on automation and scalability. Focus on designing CI/CD pipelines, implementing infrastructure as code, and optimizing deployment processes.

Location: Hybrid in Cape Town, South Africa. Must be within commutable distance.

What you will do

Support a major platform transformation from legacy environments to a cloud-first Azure architecture.
Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment efficiency and reliability.
Deliver and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform.
Scale the platform underpinning core applications to ensure high availability.
Collaborate with engineering teams to shape platform standards, tooling, and ways of working.

Requirements

Experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
Hands-on expertise with Terraform (essential).
Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS also considered).
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.
Must be based in Cape Town or within commutable distance.

Nice to have

Experience supporting .NET or web-based applications.
Exposure to hybrid or enterprise environments (cloud and on-prem).
Knowledge of blue-green or canary deployment strategies.
Experience in financial services or data platforms.
