Principal Electrical Engineer (HV/MV Technical Specialist)

What you will do

• Lead the design and specification of HV/MV systems, including substations, transformers, and distribution networks.
• Deliver power system studies covering load flow, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination.
• Provide consultancy on feasibility, due diligence, and power infrastructure strategy.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/EN standards and engineering best practices.
• Support multidisciplinary project delivery, design reviews, and risk management.
• Act as a technical interface with clients, utilities, and vendors.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10–15+ years of experience in HV/MV design and consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of HV systems, applicable standards, and power modelling tools including Caneco, ETAP, and SKM.
• Experience with industrial, data centre, or life sciences projects.
• Strong technical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Chartered Engineer status or progress toward chartership is preferred.
