TL;DR

Principal Electrical Engineer – HV/MV Technical Specialist (HV/MV power systems): Leading the design and delivery of high-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems for data centres, life sciences, food, and medtech projects with an accent on substations, transformers, distribution, and power system studies. Focus on advising clients on infrastructure strategies, coordinating protection systems, and ensuring safe, efficient, and standards-compliant project delivery.

Location: Office-based in Dublin, Ireland

What you will do

Lead the design and specification of HV/MV systems, including substations, transformers, and electrical distribution.
Deliver power system studies covering load flow, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination.
Provide consultancy on feasibility, due diligence, and power infrastructure strategy.
Ensure safe, efficient, compliant solutions aligned with IEC/EN standards and industry best practice.
Support multidisciplinary project delivery, design reviews, and risk management.
Act as the technical interface with clients, utilities, and vendors.

Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering.
10–15+ years of experience in HV/MV design and consultancy.
Strong knowledge of HV systems, applicable standards, and power modelling tools such as Caneco, ETAP, and SKM.
Experience with industrial, data centre, or life sciences projects.
Strong technical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Chartered status or progress toward chartership is preferred.
