Principal Electrical Engineer – HV/MV Technical Specialist

What you will do

• Lead the design and specification of HV/MV systems, including substations, transformers, and electrical distribution.
• Deliver power system studies covering load flow, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination.
• Provide consultancy on feasibility, due diligence, and power infrastructure strategy.
• Ensure safe, efficient, compliant solutions aligned with IEC/EN standards and industry best practice.
• Support multidisciplinary project delivery, design reviews, and risk management.
• Act as the technical interface with clients, utilities, and vendors.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10–15+ years of experience in HV/MV design and consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of HV systems, applicable standards, and power modelling tools such as Caneco, ETAP, and SKM.
• Experience with industrial, data centre, or life sciences projects.
• Strong technical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Chartered status or progress toward chartership is preferred.
