What you will do

• Architect and implement on-device software for recording, sensors, storage, and power management.
• Perform board bring-up and driver development for new sensor modules alongside the EE team.
• Prototype and solve core technical problems, measuring real behavior to guide hardware decisions.
• Own and document the device's interface, including on-device APIs/SDKs and communication protocols.
• Build tooling and automation for firmware development, testing, and calibration to enable rapid iteration.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience shipping embedded software on real hardware used by real users.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with embedded Linux (device drivers, device tree, boot process) and/or RTOS/bare-metal firmware.
• Ability to read datasheets and use electrical test equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• B.S. in EE, CE, CS, or equivalent professional experience.
• Location: Must be based in Menlo Park, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with cameras, MIPI CSI-2, DSP/ISP, or video/media pipelines.
• Knowledge of MCU firmware, bootloaders, and RTOS such as Zephyr or FreeRTOS.
• Familiarity with connectivity protocols including BLE, Wi-Fi, and USB.
• Experience with OTA, telemetry, or fleet management for connected devices.
• Background in wearable or consumer hardware and working with contract manufacturers.
