Location: Hybrid: 3 days per week based at the Magaliessig office (Johannesburg, South Africa) and 2 days working remotely.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, high-performing enterprise software solutions.
• Lead the modernization of legacy Java platforms to containerized, cloud-native architectures.
• Implement DevOps and DevSecOps best practices, including CI/CD and automated testing.
• Mentor software engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Integrate AI-powered capabilities and utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards, including POPIA and OWASP.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development.
• Strong expertise in Java SE/EE, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and RESTful services.
• Proven experience with enterprise-scale applications and software architecture principles.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong SQL database knowledge.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, banking, or payment platforms.
• Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Familiarity with React, Angular, or PrimeFaces.
• Experience with NoSQL databases and MLOps.
