TL;DR

Product Developer (Food Science): Developing, implementing, and launching food innovation and renovation projects with an accent on formula development, pilot testing, and industrial scale-up. Focus on cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Regulatory, and Production teams to ensure project excellence and adherence to strict timelines.

Location: Hybrid (Canada). Must be based in Canada and available for 10-20% travel within US-Canada.

Salary: $72,000 – $100,000 CAD

What you will do

• Define development plans for new products based on project briefs, costs, and deadlines.
• Act as the R&I representative within project teams, ensuring follow-up using internal tools.
• Develop formulas and processes while coordinating with Regulatory, Quality, and Production departments.
• Design and execute pilot tests and organize tasting sessions with Marketing.
• Manage the industrialization and scale-up of new products from bench to full manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Marketing to drive innovation within the product category.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in food science or a related field required.
• Three to ten years of experience in food product development.
• Bilingualism in English and French (written and spoken) is required for frequent communication with business units outside Québec.
• Experience in manufacturing scale-up from bench to pilot and full production.
• Strong project management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to travel 10-20% of the time within US-Canada.
