Data Center Engineer

Data Center Engineer: Building and optimizing data center infrastructure for long-term performance, scalability, security, and reliability with an accent on hardware/software/network reliability, power and cooling planning, and incident response. Focus on hands-on installs, monitoring, maintenance, DCIM asset inventory, and disaster recovery planning while providing 24x7 on-call support.

What you will do

• Design and implement new data center infrastructure, optimizing for performance, scalability, security, and future growth.
• Build, manage, and maintain infrastructure across global data centers.
• Perform equipment installs and maintenance (compute, network, storage, racks, PDUs, cabling) and troubleshoot hardware issues.
• Monitor infrastructure health to prevent failures and service degradation; manage power usage, power balancing, and power availability per cabinet.
• Maintain DCIM asset inventory for production and lab environments; keep documentation current and accurate.
• Support disaster recovery planning, follow change management, and participate in on-call rotation with incident response and root cause analysis.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years hands-on experience with data center technologies (compute, network, storage, cabling, racks, PDUs, etc.).
• Strong technical knowledge of networking, servers, storage, and virtualization; experience with data center design and implementation.
• Experience planning cooling, power, and space resources; Linux/Unix system administration and SAN connectivity skills strongly desired.
• Experience working with vendors (quote-purchase process, RMA processes, support interactions).
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve hardware problems independently; strong analytical and communication skills.
• Comfortable using command line interfaces; familiarity with Linux and other CLI operating systems; ability to lift up to 75 lb.
