Senior Backend Developer (Node.js)

Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Oxford or Warwick, UK. This is a hybrid role requiring regular studio attendance. Applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship is available.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy web applications to support the in-house game engine team.
• Maintain and improve existing internal tools and public-facing APIs.
• Develop integrations with third-party services and APIs.
• Support application deployments and ensure system reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve bugs and technical issues.

Requirements

• Strong experience with NodeJS, Javascript, and TypeScript.
• Proficiency with databases such as MySQL and NoSQL.
• Familiarity with AWS or equivalent cloud environments.
• Experience with software development tools and version control systems like Git or Perforce.
• Must have the permanent right to work in the UK without employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with frontend frameworks like Vue or React.
• Comfortable modifying or maintaining applications written in PHP.
• Experience writing serverless functions (AWS Lambda or Azure Functions).
