What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain Apollo MCP Server and GraphOS tools using idiomatic Rust.
• Develop and distribute 'Skills' that enable productive AI agent workflows.
• Improve tool discovery and introspection to optimize agent interaction with GraphQL capabilities.
• Collaborate across Federation, Connectors, and Client teams to integrate MCP work with core platform features.
• Engage with customers and the community to debug issues and influence the product roadmap.
• Own projects end-to-end, contributing to codebase health, operational reliability, and bug fixes.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States or Canada.
• Strong experience with Rust or a background in C/C++ with a willingness to ramp into Rust.
• Expertise in systems engineering, including stateless/fault-tolerant systems, event-driven patterns, and distributed paradigms.
• Hands-on experience as a user of AI developer tools with the ability to critique and improve them.
• Strong debugging instincts and experience with operational maintenance in high-escalation environments.
• Experience with GraphQL or large-scale runtime systems.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Experience building or maintaining 'Skills' or packaged capabilities for AI agents.
