TL;DR

IT Business Analyst (Fintech): Gathering and documenting functional requirements for algorithmic trading systems and execution platforms with an accent on front-office workflows and order types. Focus on translating business needs into technical specifications and optimizing real-time trading workflows across equities and securities financing.

Location: Hybrid in NYC (at least 4 days onsite/week). Must have valid US work authorization; hirify.global does not sponsor visas.

Salary: $110,000 - $135,000

What you will do

• Gather, document, and own functional requirements for algorithmic trading systems and execution platforms.
• Translate business needs into clear functional specifications and use cases for development teams.
• Facilitate communication between trading desks, IT teams, and project stakeholders.
• Participate in testing and validation of new features to ensure they match business requirements.
• Provide day-to-day user support and training as platforms evolve.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a BA in a front-office environment.
• Hands-on exposure to in-house trade execution platforms (non-HFT).
• Solid understanding of the execution lifecycle and order types across equities and/or securities financing.
• Proficiency with SQL, Excel, and FIX messaging.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and ability to work autonomously.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, IT, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with trading platforms such as Fidessa, Horizon, Dash Financials, or Bloomberg EMSX.
