PhD Candidate (User-Centered Design): Researching and designing effortless public transport solutions in a trans-disciplinary environment with an accent on user-centred design and mobility transitions. Location: Based in Delft, Netherlands, with a requirement to work 1-2 days per week at the OV Campus in Utrecht.
Salary: €3,059 – €3,881 gross per month

What you will do
- Conduct user studies to evaluate current barriers in using public transport.
- Develop and test user-centred solutions to make public transport more effortless.
- Set up and analyse pilot experiments in collaboration with public transport operators.
- Collaborate with academic, governmental, and industry partners across different disciplines.
- Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications and mobility conferences.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Industrial Design Engineering, Business, Innovation, Transportation, Mobility, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in both Dutch and English for fieldwork and scientific writing.
- Experience with participatory research methods, co-creation, or co-design approaches.
- Must be based in or able to relocate to the Netherlands.
