What you will do

• Conduct research on how designers generate and evaluate ideas in the context of AI and emerging technologies.
• Teach Bachelor and Master courses in design processes, methodologies, creativity, and strategic design.
• Supervise BSc and MSc projects, mentoring students to become reflective and creative actors.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of engineers, economists, and social scientists.
• Engage with industry, government, and civil society partners to apply research insights to real-world frameworks.

Requirements

• PhD in a design-related field (or engineering, psychology, HCI, or social sciences with design research focus).
• Strong research profile in design processes and AI in design, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications.
• English: C1+ (Excellent command written and spoken) required.
• Experience teaching in higher education, specifically in project-based design studios.
• Ability to work across disciplinary boundaries and engage with diverse stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in the Dutch language or willingness to learn.
• University Teaching Qualification (UTQ).
• Experience in grant writing and acquisition.
• Expertise in creativity, design cognition, or service design.
