What you will do

• Design, train, and deploy deep learning models for image understanding, including translation, segmentation, and defect analysis.
• Abstract specific inspection tasks into generalized mathematical problems and devise customized algorithmic solutions.
• Curate and manage datasets while establishing rigorous training, validation, and evaluation pipelines.
• Improve model accuracy and optimize inference throughput using GPU-accelerated and high-performance computing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to co-optimize algorithms with sub-systems for best overall system design.
• Support model deployments at customer sites, including occasional international travel.

Requirements

• Education: Doctorate degree with 0 years experience, Master's with 3 years, or Bachelor's with 5 years of related work experience.
• Significant experience in deep learning, specifically for computer vision and image understanding.
• Proficiency with modern deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong programming skills in Python and C++ for production software development.
• Ability to work onsite in Milpitas, CA.

Nice to have

• Expertise in scientific computing, signal processing, numerical optimization, and computational geometry.
• Experience in modeling imaging systems (electron-beam or optical).
