Early Career Software Engineer (Fullstack)

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 annually for roles based in San Francisco or New York City

What you will do

• Plan, build, ship, and iterate on product features from conception through launch.
• Develop and improve core Notion experiences such as the editor, databases, and sharing.
• Build AI and automation features that make the product more contextual and efficient.
• Improve performance, reliability, scalability, and quality for experiences used by millions of users.
• Run experiments supporting activation, retention, collaboration, and revenue in partnership with design, data science, and research.
• Build internal tools and platform improvements that help engineers ship quickly and safely.

Requirements

• Less than two years of engineering experience and availability to start full time immediately.
• Solid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Experience with any part of the technology stack: React, TypeScript, Node, Postgres, or Elasticsearch.
• Thoughtful problem-solving, pragmatic judgment, proactive communication, and ownership of work.
• Customer-minded approach to building technology and awareness of the relationship between technology and society.
• Interest in AI-assisted development tools and intellectual curiosity about new technologies.
